Ok, it’s been a while since I’ve shared a roundup and there’s been a lot keeping me from being bored. We did a good amount of travel the first three months of 2023 as well as just playing in NYC!
My husband’s brother and his wife came to visit us for a long weekend and we had so much fun wandering through the city. The first night we took them to one of our favorite restaurants, Heidelberg, on the UES. I’m not a beer drinker, but I do love their beers and their food is always delicious. Of course we did some shopping (my sister-in-law is looking for a mother of the groom dress for her son’s wedding this fall). We walked through Central Park, which is always fun. Lunch one day was at another favorite, Il Postino. We shared everything shrimp, salmon filled ravioli, dover sole, and chicken piccata. Everything was so delicious and filling. Another day we took the subway to Little Italy as my sister-in-law wanted to bring some Italian pastries home for her kids. After stopping at Ferrara Bakery and tasting a few goodies (the fudge cookies were my favorite!) we went for lunch at Umbertos. We decided to go there as my husband and his brother grew up next door to the aunt of the family who owns it, so it was a memory for them. Staying with the Italian mode we brought in pizza for dinner as we watched the Super Bowl at our apartment. They left the next day with promises to get together again soon. I can’t wait! It was a weekend of laughing, walking, eating, and great company!
We’ve been looking for a place in Florida for a while and in January…we found one! We closed on it in the beginning of March and I’m excited to head down there and get settled. We won’t be snowbirds as I love the seasons in NYC but we’ll be back and forth between the two.
We also traveled to Turks & Caicos. It was a last minute getaway and it was wonderful. Beautiful, relaxing and just what we needed! You can read more about Turks & Caicos on the blog, but if you’re looking for a beach getaway this is a great spot.
Another trip I took was to Saratoga Springs, NY. I drove up, it was only about 3 1/2 hours and the weather was good so it was an easy drive. My oldest daughter flew in from Pittsburgh and met me. We stayed at the Adelphi Hotel, which is in a great location downtown Saratoga. We shopped and ate (a lot!), but the best part, aside from all the time I had with my daughter, was seeing family. I saw my sister-in-law and her husband, my niece and her husband and I got to meet my great nephew, which was a special treat! There’s nothing like spending time with family-so much love!
Bumper Cars on Ice: My husband was looking for something fun for us to do one day and so we went to Bryant Park and played on bumper cars on ice. I’d done this once before with my youngest and it’s so much fun! Sometimes it’s just fun to play tourist in your own city.
Cotes of London: I had the privilege of meeting Lindsi, the founder and designer of Cotes of London, and it was so wonderful to talk with her and learn more about her and her business. I love this coat, the Chelsea Down Jacket, for it’s versatility and design. I can wear it with sneakers or dress it up. It’s warm and cozy and just perfect. I’ll be sharing some more styles for Cotes of London soon so keep your eyes out for them!
Caite & Kyla: As the weather gets warmer it’s so much fun to think about flowy dresses and pants, lightweight tops and kimonos, and Caite and Kyla has so many beautiful, beachy, boho styles from which to choose. I wore mine in Turks and Caicos and am so looking forward to it being warm on a regular basis (soon? 🤞) and wearing my Caite and Kyla styles!
LOYKO: I was so excited to share Alena and her unique designs and when I did the response was so positive. You know I love unique, architectural clothes and when I saw those designed by LOYKO I fell in love. Alena creates clothes using natural materials so her designs are incredibly comfortable and sustainable and make a beautiful statement!
I hope you’ve had a great few months and the next few are filled with happy times and things to do that will keep you from being bored! xo
