May is a special month in my family as we celebrate a lot of wonderful people! My three oldest children all have birthdays in May, as do my niece and a couple of other family members. My youngest graduated from Teacher’s College, Columbia University with her Master’s in Education-so proud! My parents celebrated their anniversary and my uncle his birthday, all in May. Lots of beautiful celebrations and memories during this month. It’s also marks the beginning of summer, which always makes me happy.
This year I was lucky enough to be able to celebrate Mother’s Day with my mom-one of the reasons we moved her back to NY and we moved to NYC. We went to brunch at Seamore’s, which was delicious and special. My dad’s name was Seymour, so eating at Seamore’s made my mom really happy! Then we did a little shopping. I made my first trip to the NYC Nordstrom and it’s a great space. I especially love their Shoe Bar in the shoe department-so clever! That night we had dinner at American Bar and it was delicious. My mom and I were given tickets to see Funny Girl on Broadway, which was the perfect gift. If you’re looking for an incredible musical, Funny Girl is the show to see. Thank you to my husband and kids for this awesome gift!
The Love Bakery: Another Mother’s Day gift included really special treats from The Love Bakery. What’s special about them is that they create delicious baked goods that are 100% vegan, gluten free, dairy free, soy free, have no refined sugar or oil and are plant based. They’re beautiful and OMG delicious. There are so many incredible choices and all were delicious, but you have to try the banana bread muffins. 😋
Tesslo: Custom made clothes by Tessy, the founder/designer of Tesslo are definitely something special! Tessy has a very interesting story on how she arrived where she is. She also has an incredible amount of talent and style and is very kind! Everything Tessy designs is unique, which to me is perfect. I feel so glamorous in this outfit and love that I can also wear the top with jeans for a fun look.
Tesslo offers custom made designs for women and men. Tessy wanted to meet with me so she could take my measurements. I was blown away by how thorough she was. She took almost 30 measurements and as a result my outfit fits me perfectly! When you meet with her you’ll see why I believe she is a special designer! I can’t wait to see what she designs for you!
LD Watkins Designs: I typically wear small earring but decided to step out of my box and try something different. LD Watkins was kind enough to send me these leather earring and two really cool cuffs. I love them! I’ve worn the earrings so many times already and I love how they look and make me feel! The cuffs are so fun and add a cool vibe to my outfits. When you order your cuff you can get an extra set of snaps if you have a smaller wrist, just let them know!
Waterpik Electric Toothbrush: When I was a kid my parents bought a water pik and it was a battle every night as my siblings and I were not happy about using this. But now as an adult I don’t understand why! I purchased the Waterpik® Sonic-Fusion® 2.0 Flossing Toothbrush and I love it. TBH I wish I had this as a kid!
Home Made by Liz Hatuck: I was so moved by this story. The author, Liz, lost her dad and, as a way to keep his legacy alive, started a cooking/dinner program in the group home where he had worked for years. I was so moved and saddened by what these young men endured throughout their lives. I just wanted someone to hug them and tell them it will be ok. But, of course, we don’t know if it will be ok. Liz gave so much to the boys/men during her time running the program. I truly admire her strength and compassion and enjoyed reading her story.
Anatomy of a Scandal on Netflix: How well do we really know the people in our lives? Sophie and James have the perfect marriage and the perfect life, or so it seems. When James is accused of having an affair with a young staff member a scandal unfolds and their world comes tumbling down. I really enjoyed this as there were a number of plot twists that I just didn’t see coming!
I’ve been enjoying spring here in NYC and I can’t wait to see what June and the summer bring. Enjoy the sunshine!
