Cynthia Ashby: Timeless Clothes You’ll Wear Forever

September 27, 2022 •

Linen-Jacket

I was first introduced to Cynthia Ashby when I shared Evie Lou Boutique and I have been a big fan ever since!

Hand-Painted-Jacket

Cynthia Ashby began designing clothes for herself when she was just 11 years old! Initially she used patterns to make her clothes, but then she would experiment and create her own unique designs, something she still does to this day! Cynthia earned a B.F.A. at The Institute of Fine Arts in Chicago. Right after college she launched her first clothing line and has been going ever since!

Today I’d like to share some of her incredible designs with you.

Facto Tunic

I paired the Facto Tunic with jeans and I really love the look! While I’m wearing the tunic with heels, I’ll also wear it with flats or sneakers when I’m running around the city. I love the asymmetrical hem; it adds so much interest to this beautiful fit and flare tunic.

Erme Jacket

The Erme Jacket is so cute. I chose to wear it buttoned up with a belt over a t-shirt dress and love how it looks. This a great transitional piece. I can also wear this linen jacket over white or black jeans or pants with flats, sandals, heels, or sneakers, it’s so versatile. The Erme Jacket looks great buttoned, unbuttoned, belted or unbelted. It’s a great addition to any wardrobe!

So I started with this really cute logo tee…

Alexander Shirt

Next I layered the cotton Alexander Shirt. This is the perfect shirt to wear on it’s own or open as a topper!

This beautiful knit sweater jacket was the finishing touch over the other two layers. I really love how they all look together. It’s a fun way to keep warm on the cooler mornings and I can remove a layer or two as the day warms up.

Collage-Cardigan

The Collage sweater jacket looks so good with jeans and sneakers, but it was equally as pretty when I wore it over a dress with booties. Another really versatile piece from Cynthia Ashby!

Play Jacket

The Play Jacket is such a statement piece. With its apron pockets, drawstring waist, and hand painted design, this linen jacket is so easy to style. Perfect over a dress, skirt, or jeans with heels, boots, flats, or sneakers, this is one jacket I can definitely see myself wearing on repeat!

Cynthia Ashby clothes are beautiful, comfortable, timeless, and will be worn over and over for years to come.

Since I’m not following any fashion trend – timeless is excellent for me. Nice styling! Thanks.

      Hi Heike,

I feel the same way! I wear what I like and what I feel good in regardless of “what’s in”!! Which is your favorite?

      Thanks!

      xo, Michele
