So a while back I wrote about some clothing brands I love. If you read that post you’ll see that there’s an overlap with what is written here as many of the brands I love have their own stores. But here I am also sharing some stores that weren’t included in the previous post. Enjoy!!
Some of my favorite places to shop all around the country include:
Rootchi Alembika: Rootchi Alembika is a great little boutique in the city (remember to me “the city” is NYC). Not only do they have a great selection of clothes, including brands such as Alembika, Luukaa, Grizas, and more, but their customer service is above and beyond! The other day I saw an Alembika dress I loved on their website, but they didn’t have it in my size. So while I was shopping/sitting on my couch I sent them an email asking if they were going to get this dress back in stock any time soon. I received an email back quickly and a couple of hours later a phone call letting me know they had one in my size! I received the dress in the mail two days later. How’s that for great customer service!
Ruti: While I originally found Ruti in California they now have stores across the country, including one in the city. I love everything about Ruti, plus it was the first place I found pieces by Alembika (Are you picking up on how much I like Alembika yet??). The designs by Ruti herself are so unique. Taryn C. at the Santa Monica store has been an amazing resource, when I email her asking what she thinks I might like or when my daughter stops in to make a purchase for me she’s always on target. Sensing a theme here? Customer service is one of the most important aspects of my shopping experience and Ruti does it right, both in customer service and design!
December Thieves: I came across December Thieves when I was on the website for Lurdes Bergada, one of my favorite designers. Located on Charles Street in Boston, December Thieves has such a cool vibe. When I walked in the store I suddenly felt very cool myself (at least in my mind lol). Between the employees and the selection, it was a really fun afternoon. My sister and I both bought some special pieces during our trip to Boston and then online a few weeks after our trip.
Closer to home in Ohio, I’ve come across some boutiques that have helped me add incredible pieces to my wardrobe, and actually get me off the couch and into the stores.
Still Point Gallery: Another boutique I found while looking for Lurdes Bergada is Still Point Gallery, located in Cleveland Heights. Still Point Gallery is a fantastic place to shop. Not only do they have beautiful clothes, gifts, art (which can be found on their website), and jewelry, but on my first visit there I spent a good deal of time talking with an associate who works there. She helped me find some great pieces by Lurdes and then we talked about everything from clothes to our kids and personal lives. What a fun way to spend the day and beat the boredom!
Kilgore Trout: Carrying both men’s and women’s clothing and accessories, Kilgore Trout in Woodmere never disappoints. Aside from selling awesome brands, think Veronica Beard, Vince, Staci Snider, L’Agence, Rag & Bone, to name a few, they also carry some local jewelry designers, which I love. Walking in to Kilgore Trout feels like Cheers (Remember the tv show and their theme song “Where Everybody Knows Your Name”?). Great customer service, beautiful selection, and a perfect excuse to get off the couch!
Haven: Located in Chagrin Falls, Haven is another amazing boutique. The owner, Cori, is really sweet and has incredible style, so you know her store is going to be stocked with lots of must have pieces. When I walk in to Haven I feel like I’m walking in to a New York boutique. The store is simply, but tastefully decorated and is not crammed with clothes or accessories, yet there is plenty to choose from. The brands she carries are just incredible-Iro Paris, Frame, Anine Bing, and one of my favorites from Hungary, Nanushka (to name a just a few). The selection is timeless, trendy, cool, and classy-something for everyone. Be sure to stop in to Haven, there are so many “cool things inside”!
Find Me: I’ve passed by Find Me in Chagrin Falls numerous times over the years, but for some reason I never went in. Recently I was driving by and saw some Alembika (again with the Alembika obsession. Do you think I can get sponsored yet??) pieces in the window and couldn’t get there fast enough! Surprisingly I didn’t buy Alembika on my first visit, but did find they carried a few other brands I love, and bought a really cute skirt and top by Sun Kim. Looking forward to my next visit(s).
Juma Gallery: Juma carries Alembika (I told you I was obsessed!!), Comfy USA, Luukka, and many other brands I love. They also carry men’s clothing, jewelry, gifts, and home decor. Juma, located in Shaker Heights, is attached to a really cute cafe where you can get coffee, tea, beer, wine, and small plates. How awesome is that-shopping, eating, and a glass of wine-cheers to Juma!!
I’m always looking for new places to shop. What are some of your favorites that get you off the couch? And those that keep you on the couch shopping online?
