The other day my husband left to move my daughter to NYC and I stayed home with the dogs. There was nothing on tv so I did a little reading and then, you guessed it, I was bored. So what do I do when I’m bored? Yup, shop online! I love to try on clothes at home. For whatever reason when I buy in a store and then try it on at home sometimes it just looks different to me and I may end up returning it. Shopping online cuts out that step. Plus, I love to get packages in the mail, it makes the day feel like a holiday or my birthday!!
I like shopping Zara online because they offer free shipping (over $50) and free returns. They also have some fun pieces and are at a good price point so I don’t feel bad if I get bored with it after a season or so. This time I ordered four pair of jeans, two dresses, one jumpsuit, and three pairs of pants. I had so much fun trying everything on and playing dress up!
All of the jeans I ordered were under $50, which I thought was amazing. Jeans are an item I think you can either save or splurge on, to me it all depends on how they fit and how they feel. I was happy to see that all of the jeans I ordered looked just as they were pictured on their site. I’ve been looking for slouchy jeans so I’m excited I found these. They are tighter in the waist, but that helps give them their incredible shape. I also love the wash. The paperbag jeans are my daughter’s favorites and I think they are adorable. Definitely a baggier look, but that’s what makes them so cool. The cuffed jeans are more fitted across the hips and fall straight down. Again, a little baggy (sensing a theme here!) but they fall nicely to the wide cuff at the bottom. The belted jeans are my favorite and fit perfectly. I can’t wait to wear these jeans. I think they’ll be my “go-tos” for the next few months (until I get bored!) Normally I don’t wear high waisted jeans or pants (I’m too short waisted for them) but these looked cute (at least to me ?).
As far as the dresses go, I had seen the blue dress with voluminous sleeves on Instagram and fell in love. The person wearing the dress on Instagram showed it with and without a belt and I like it both ways. The dress is very full, but I love oversized clothes. The beautiful blue makes this the perfect dress to wear while I’m in Greece. The belted voluminous dress is a pretty cream color. It is more fitted in the body with large sleeves. This is a dress I can wear during the day with flats or dress up to go out at night. I can’t wait to wear this!
I ordered the floral print belted jumpsuit especially for my trip to Greece. When I think of Greece blues and whites come to mind-you know all the white homes, the churches with blue domes, the incredible blue water, and clear blue sky. This flowy jumpsuit is perfect for exploring Santorini or out to lunch or dinner. With sneakers for exploring Santorini (or wherever you are!), flat sandals for out to lunch, and a kitten heel to dress it up a little for dinner.
In warmer weather I love to wear dresses, but it’s going to be cooler here soon so I decided I “needed” to order some pants. I know, I know, I really don’t need anything, but I was bored! I love the stripe wide leg pants in navy blue (they look black to me!). They have adjustable buttons at the bottom-this is what caught my eye when I first saw them-and come with a belt. On the model they don’t look as high waisted as they do on me, but I still really love how they look and fit. The belted pants with side pockets are also high waisted. I know I just said I usually don’t wear high waisted pants, and I usually don’t, but maybe I’m stepping out of my comfort zone and making some changes! These pants are more of a paperbag waist and so cute. I love, love, love the side pockets! These also come with a belt. One thing to note when you see the pictures of me and then when you see the same items on Zara’s site-pants that look cropped on the models are full length on me-the life of a short girl! Why I love heels!! The last pair of pants are the champagne color satin effect belted pants. I went back and forth on these, trying to decide if I should order them. I didn’t know if I would like the satin look (they’re actually polyester & cotton), but I figured I might as well try since it’s free shipping and free returns. Well, I love these pants! They’re so soft and the pockets on the legs are really cute. These pants also come with a belt and, surprisingly enough, are somewhat cropped on me!
I really hit the jackpot with this shopping spree! I love what I bought and can’t wait to wear each piece. The two dresses and the striped wide leg pants were the most expensive items, but all under $100; everything else was under $50. I’d like to say I’m set for a while, but those who know me…
