Our Hopes, Dreams, and New Year’s Resolutions for 2022

December 28, 2021 •

It’s hard to believe the new year is approaching. We all have hopes and dreams for the upcoming year and, if you’re like me, every year I set goals for myself. I’m going to exercise more is a popular one for me. I start out strong and then fizzle out. So this year rather than set a resolution, I’m going to think about what my hopes and dreams for the New Year.

looking-to-the-future
Looking to the future!

In 2022, I hope to be able to spend more time with family. Moving to New York will make this easier, but I still have some long distance family so I hope to be able to see them more frequently in the coming year. I’m definitely dreaming of travel in the new year. Hopefully I can share some interesting travel adventures with you all. I’m going to continue to work on being positive and truly appreciate how fortunate I am in so many aspects of my life-a wonderful husband, four incredible adult children-all healthy and pursuing what they love, the ability to travel and live where I want. I am so blessed! I’m hoping to be able to get involved in volunteer work again. This was put on hold through Covid, but I do miss it and can’t wait to find some great volunteer opportunities in my new home. I’m optimistic that 2022 is going to be a wonderful year-for all of us!

I’ve asked some of my favorite Instagrammers and influencers to share their hopes, dreams, and resolutions for 2022. Here’s what they had to say:

mummabstylish
Jacqui at a family BBQ, her favourite place in the summer with all the family!

Jacqui of @mummabstylish: Like most of us who’ve been through Covid over the past year and a bit I would wish for a healthy new year and continue to move forward getting things back to normal.  I vow to not take anything for granted and appreciate the small things in life like being with my family and friends & enjoying a nice meal and a few drinks. Every year I make a resolution to lose weight and get fitter, this coming year I will try to get fitter and keep some weight off! Be interesting to see how that goes!

vicks_kl

Vicki of @vicks_kl: My hopes and dreams are to be able to be operating as a personal stylist and colour analyst and to launch my business and website in the New Year. I will be fully trained by the end of this month and I literally cannot wait to start! It’s been a hideous last year for me and I lost my way and my confidence and so my other dream is to be back to the joyful, passionate person that I know I am. I lost my way a little in the last few years but I hope to be back to the person I know who laughs and smiles a lot doing something I fully believe in and while heartedly love. And most of all be able to help others regain their confidence too and find joy through colour and style again if they have lost their way. That is my ultimate dream and would make me so happy! To be able to bring a bit of joy to the world again! ❤️

everyday-over-50

Denise of @everydayover50: My hopes and dreams for the new year include:
1. Getting my Life Coaching business off the ground and integrating it here on IG and on YouTube through videos. I love fashion but my soul has been yearning to make a different kind of contribution. And my hope is to keep fashion as a part of it especially when coaching midlife dating and relationship clients.
2. My second hope is to travel more. I do have several trips planned for the first part of 2022 and I’m hoping virus variants won’t damper that plan! I’m looking forward to blogging while away and sharing my journeys with my followers!

style-up-with-abby

Abby of styleupwithabby:Hopes & Dreams 2022

1. Aiming to grow my styling business – with lots of Style Up Sessions and Wardrobe Edits; creating many more hard-working wardrobes for women like us.
2. Covid willing, travel is my priority – with my family obviously – but also time in the sun with my girlfriends would be a real tonic for body & soul.
3. For personal reasons, domestic abuse has been on my radar this year. During 2022 I intend to explore ways that I can help raise the profile of organizations that help women who have suffered in abusive relationships.

fallen-into-fifty-3

Michelle of @fallen_into_fifty: I’m not a big fan of resolutions, it’s like setting myself up for a failure 🤣
I am a fan of hopes & dreams though. Are they the same as resolutions? 🤷🏼‍♀️
So obviously we would all hope too find the solution to the Covid pandemic. For our families to be healthy & thriving, after so much time spent indoors.
Dreams? To be able to travel to Mexico (we got married there) with family & friends, & renew our vows after 20 years together. I dream of my eldest son walking me down the aisle, & my youngest son standing next to my husband. It’s booked for the end of March 🤞🏻 Dreaming big this year 🥰

shirlz-law

Shirley of @shirlz_law: I’ve hundreds of voice recordings in my phone. I use it when I have an idea, a thought, something I want to remember to tell someone, recommend a tv clip, something I want to do, something I need to buy, something I need to fix, something I can’t forget about work, even a song I want on my playlist. Loads and loads of voice recordings I occasionally clean up and delete the ones I’ve done. During these pandemic years the one thing I’ve learned is that the human race isn’t a race at all. I’ve slowed down 200%. My voice recordings are a sparse cupboard now. And I’m happy about that. When the pandemic is over, my hope for the next years are that we all slow down and feel more blessed for what we have and what’s around us.

Whatever your dreams or resolutions, I hope 2022 is a wonderful year for you all-full of good health, family, happiness, love, and laughter. Happy Holidays!

I love hearing what others have planned and hope for in their future. I agree not New Year’s resolution but dream as big as you can and go for what you love doing.
