Seattle Views (And Some Incredible Restaurants!)

July 12, 2022 •

We took some time to visit our son in Seattle before he makes his move to NYC! There’s a lot to see and do in Seattle and we lucked out with the weather in this usually gray, misty city.

What I love the most about Seattle, aside from seeing my son, are the views. You can be walking along a street, turn a corner and before you are beautiful mountains and a body of water. It’s just breathtaking. Today I want to share some of the views we’ve experienced on our trips to Seattle.

Some fun areas, parks, and beaches for great views include:

  • Capitol Hill
  • Fremont
  • Ballard
  • Gas Works Park
  • Seward Park
  • Volunteer Park
  • Discovery Park
  • Sunset Hill Park
  • Alki Beach
Mt.-Rainier

One night my son and I got dinner at a great food truck, Where Ya At Matt, and went to a local brewery, Urban Family Brewing Co. I usually don’t drink beer, but my son chose a light beer for me that was delicious and went so well with our New Orleans dinner!

Some other great restaurants we ate at:

  • The Walrus & the Carpenter: They serve great oysters!
  • Saint Bread: Try the Melonpan, it was fantastic, as were some other goodies!
  • Sea Wolf: They serve incredible pasteries including an outstanding cinnamon bun!!
  • Blotto: A really cute neighborhood pizza place.
  • Revel: delicious Korean food-try the short rib wontons!
  • Bangrak Market: Thai street food in a really cool setting.
  • Dough Zone: This is always a favorite! The seaweed salad and soup dumplings are beyond delicious!
  • The Pink Door: I’ve wanted to go here for a while and am so glad I did before my son moved.
  • Mr. B’s Meadery: The cutest wine bar serving honey based drinks. It was cute, fun, and tasty!

Looks like a beautiful time Michelle! Nice weather! I have never been to Seattle, but my hubby has and enjoyed it. The restaurants sound great too- hubby would be all for the Oysters and I am like you I don’t drink beer, but the occasional lighter one. Glad you had a great visit with your son.

Thanks Jess! It was a great trip and now he’s moving here (NYC)! Seattle is definitely worth a visit if only for the views! In the summer a cold, light beer is perfect lol. Thanks for reading and your kind words! xo, Michele
