So one thing I really don’t like to do is clean the house, no matter how bored I get. Unfortunately, it’s just something that has to be done. I don’t mind emptying the dishwasher or doing the laundry (who else gets excited when they see the bottom of the hamper?? even though it seems to magically fill up again within minutes), but vacuuming, dusting, etc. well, I’d rather sit on the couch and read a book.
I’m not one of those people who likes to clean when they’re upset or angry. No, I’d rather read, shop, and/or eat (I’ll pair any or all of them together!) Sometimes I wish I was more of a cleaner because then I’d actually get stuff done, but that’s just not me. Don’t get me wrong, my house is not dirty. Lucky for me I have a husband who does like to clean! I hit the jackpot for sure!!
One way I try to keep the house a little cleaner is by asking my kids to take their shoes off when they come inside. I mean, think about all the disgusting stuff we walk through outside-I shiver just thinking about it. Unfortunately, as my four children have gotten older they comply less and less. I often hear “I don’t want to have to retie my shoes,” or “I’m going out again in a few minutes and then they walk their dirty shoes through the house.” Sigh, I just can’t win.
PS My daughter bought me this doormat because she knows that’s what I really want to say every time I ask them to take off their shoes!
