In my scrolling through Instagram, (something I do a lot!) I came across a dress that I fell in love with. This dress was The D’Andi Dress and the beautiful design created by Robin, the founder and owner of The Mass Collections.
Robin began with her Faith t-shirt line with the dream that the positive messages will help to spread happiness, love, peace, joy, and faith to all who wear them and all who see them. I think it’s so cool that Robin has a boutique that offers so many beautiful pieces and that she’s designed some of them herself!
Today I’m happy to share Robin, her online boutique, The Mass Collections, and show you how I styled The D’Andi Dress.
How and when did you get started in the fashion industry? Did you go to school for fashion?
No, I did not attend school. I have always loved fashion since being a little girl. I always had a sense of style. I can remember making quick outfits with Stitch Witchery as a teenager. I’d have an idea in my head, go cut it out without a pattern and mend the entire ensemble with stitchery. Because of my love for fashion and wanting everyone around me to look fabulous…. I started wardrobe styling and personal shopping for others as my humble beginnings into the fashion industry.
How did you learn to design?
Self taught. It helps that I work closely with a great pattern maker and seamstress who bring my ideas to life.
Your D’Andi dress is incredible and it’s so impressive that it’s your design! Are there other pieces that you’ve designed?
Yes, my Faith logo and currently working on other clothing pieces.
Where do you get your inspiration?
I love bohemian chic . It has to be simple yet unique.
Do you have a favorite piece you’ve designed?
The D’Andi is my all time favorite and my most proud piece.
What led you to start your business?
I was a successful business owner of an ALF and a Real Estate Broker firm. However I wanted to pursue a life long dream to have a clothing boutique of my own. Being an entrepreneur at heart it was just the thing to do. However, I wanted a boutique where I could express my faith and fashion all in one. So my first venture was a Faith based t-shirt and handmade jewelry line.
What is a day like for you?
Being a mom first! The daily operation of The Mass Collections and searching for new inventory.
What is your favorite part about owning your business?
Being my own BOSS
What is the hardest part?
I’d saying keeping up to date with the latest social media trends.
How did you choose the name The Mass Collections?
I wanted a clothing line for the masses (everyone) that would spread love, peace, and joy throughout all mankind
I know you sell online, do you have a boutique as well?
Not yet!
I’m sure Robin will have that boutique soon enough! In the meantime how lucky are we that we can shop The Mass Collections online!
