I love playing tourist in my new home. One of the things we were looking forward to when we moved to NYC was exploring when and where we want. It was always fun to come for a few days and try to see everything we wanted in that time, but now we’ve got the time and city whenever we want. Here’s how we spent our time this month!
Hudson Yards: Having one of our closest friends come in to the city and spend the weekend with us was such a treat. One of the places she wanted to explore was Hudson Yards and we were game! Of course it was the coldest weekend, but we bundled up and were on our way. We walked around a bit and checked out The Vessel. Then we went inside the mall and headed downstairs to Little Spain. What a feast we had at Mercado and tbh it was so good, I could have kept eating! We finished up our meal sharing churros and when they were done I asked for a spoon to finish the chocolate that came with it. Don’t laugh-it was delicious! We then walked the mall, five floors! It was a fun way to spend a cold afternoon.
Tina The Tina Turner Musical on Broadway: I love going to musicals and was so excited to see Tina on Broadway. The music and acting were outstanding, but her story is so sad that I had a hard time getting past that. I’m glad I went and at the end of the show it was fun to see the actors “let go” and have a mini concert! I am glad I went to see this musical,
Oceana: Before we went to see Tina the Musical we went for an early dinner. My husband chose Oceana as it was close to the theater. What a find! This was one of the best meals. We split everything and started with the Salmon Tartare Toast on sourdough. It was incredible. Our next course was the Lobster Scampi and I have to tell you it was the most delicious pasta I have ever eaten! I was full, but ate it all and was ready for what was next. That was Short Ribs with egg noodles and it was so good! A cup of tea was the perfect end to this delicious meal. There are so many restaurants here in NYC and I want to try as many as possible, but Oceana was so good, I’ll definitely go back-hopefully soon!
Nara Accessories: I get annoyed when I have to take off my gloves to use my phone. I know there are some gloves that have special things on the fingers to allow you to use your phone, but I still struggle. I was so excited when I came across these fun fingerless mittens from Nara Accessories. I selected a pair that are really cute, but pretty calm compared to some of the others. By calm I mean not as fancy and blingy and tbh, while I absolutely love mine, I think I should have gone out of my comfort zone and chosen something wilder! Her designs are so fun and there is definitely something for everyone. These mittens are a great way to spice up any outfit!
The Mass Collections: I love finding and sharing unique businesses and when I came across The Mass Collections on Instagram, I know I had to share them with you all! Robin, the owner of this online boutique also designed the beautiful D’Andi Dress and her Faith t-shirt line. This dress is really special and I felt so great in it. I can’t wait to see what else Robin designs in the future. In the meantime, I’ll be having fun shopping at The Mass Collections online!
Totes by @byenisat: So I’m finally getting in to the routine of remembering to bring a tote bag with me when I go shopping and thanks to @byenisat I am doing so in style! When I was looking to choose my bag I told Enisa, the seamstress behind these fabulous totes, that I usually wear black and wanted to add a little color. This tote bag does the job perfectly! She has other beautiful patterns from which to choose. What I love about this tote is that it’s so pretty I can use it as a shopping tote or carry it instead of a purse!
February was such a great month. I know I said this about January too, but it’s true. Each month here in NYC is as good, or even better, than the one before. I’m so excited to see what we discover in March!

I had no idea you were in New York, I’m about 35 minutes north and there quite often. Love your ideas, were in a few of those spots myself the past year. I was unfamiliar with Nara, great accessories!!
Hi Sherri, Let me know when you’re in the city, I’d love to meet for coffee or a drink! Also, please let me know if you have any spots you think we should visit in the city! I’m glad you now know of Nara Accessories! Thanks xo, Michele
Your gloves are so unique! I struggle with those tech gloves too. Also love hearing about your Broadway adventures. xo Nipa
Hi Nipa, The gloves are the perfect solution for me lol Broadway is always a wonderful adventure! Thanks for reading. xo, Michele
Love those gloves! It sounds like you had a great day with your friend despite the cold. I love musicals! That is one thing I was missing during Covid . Tina Turner would have been great! We have tickets to see The Waitress in April and I am looking forward to it. Oceana sounds like my kinda place and looks so good!
Enjoy your week!

Winter can be long and dreary it’s fun to incorporate adventure into your life, trying new restaurants, and theater, are two of my favorite pastimes.
Hi Nancy, It’s been so much fun exploring. We bundle up and just go and it’s been incredible. We’ll stop into little restaurants and enjoy a snack. And as for theater, well nothing beats a great musical! Thanks for reading. xo, Michele
