Things That Helped Me Beat The Boredom In June 2022

July 5, 2022 •

hand-dyed-pants

June was a gorgeous month here in NYC. The weather was absolutely amazing. While we had some hot days, there were so many beautiful days with the temperatures in the mid to high 70s and it was just delightful! Having such great weather allowed us to get out and continue exploring our new home (can you believe we’ve been here for six months already!).

lavender-field

Governors Island: We took the NYC ferry from 34th Street, transferred at Wall Street and got off at Governors Island. The ferry itself is so much fun-just being on the water as we fly along on the East River (the ferry goes pretty fast!) We always sit on top and really enjoy the views. We got off at Governors Island and  walked around the island, stopping for lunch and some other interesting sites along the way (I’ll share more about our day soon!). We caught the ferry back and it was just a perfect day. Lots of steps (trying to listen to my cardiologist and increase my walking!), beautiful sights, great weather, and my favorite company! If you’re in NYC and looking for something to do I absolutely recommend a visit to Governors Island.

Seattle-Sunset

Seattle: We took some time to visit our son in Seattle before he makes his move to NYC. Yes, you’ve heard that right-another of my children will be close to us and I’m so excited (still working on the fourth, but hopefully in time!) There’s a lot to see and do in Seattle and we lucked out with the weather in this usually gray, misty city. What I love the most about Seattle, aside from seeing my son, are the views. You can be walking along a street, turn a corner and before you are beautiful mountains and a body of water. It’s just breathtaking.

jacket

Kozan: I love all clothes Kozan and their jackets are just gorgeous! I love how versatile and well made they are and I know I’ll be wearing them year round!

cropped-pants

Annie Turbin Designs: Hand painted, dyed, and printed clothing from the talented Annie Turbin are really works of art. Her clothes are super comfy as well. You can shop Annie Turbin Designs online or if you’re in Chicago stop in to her boutique.

Design-your-own-bag

Luna BTM: Imagine being able to design your own bag! Fun right? Well, with Luna BTM you can! You choose your base, a strap, and an ornament (there are 26 ornaments from which to choose!) If you’re not feeling like designing your own, they do offer a selection of bags designed for you. These bags are so cute and the perfect summer accessory.

the-affair

The Affair: This series was recommended to me as it takes place in Montauk and I love it out there! I enjoyed watching it although it was long (five seasons!). It was fun to see some places I’ve been and makes me want to go back-which I will! An enjoyable show with twists and turns and some moments when I really question people lol.

bored-housewife

June 2022 marks three years since I launched Diary of a Bored Housewife. It’s been so much fun to share parts of my life and experiences. I’ve met so many incredible people through the blog and am truly appreciative of the support, advice, and love I’ve received. Thank you all! I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next (hopefully travel!) and can’t wait to share whatever it is that keeps this bored housewife entertained! xo
