September was another fun filled month. I spent a great day out east on Long Island with my second daughter. We visited Montauk, Amagansett, Sag Harbor, and East Hampton stopping to shop and eat in each town. It was so much fun. Another day we watched my son run the 5th Avenue Mile. It was his first race and he ran it in 5 minutes 27 seconds. I was so impressed! My youngest turned 25 and we got to celebrate with her at Lamalo. It was a delicious meal and great company! Missing my oldest who does not currently live in NYC, but I remain optimistic that we will get her here at some point! We also celebrated Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, with those family member who were in town. Plus, now that my mom lives close by she was with us as well! Wishing a happy, healthy New Year to those who celebrate.
Coterie: I was so excited when the incredible women of Kozan invited me to attend Coterie at the Javitz Center in NYC. Coterie is a massive show where buyers come to see and purchase the next season’s clothes. This was the show for Spring 2023 and it was fabulous. I was able to look through Kozan’s Spring line and I can’t wait to share these amazing clothes with you! But we’re going to have to wait!! I also walked around looking at some of the other exhibits and all I can say is my feet were killing me by the end of the day. But it was so worth it! Thank you Kozan for such a special day!
City Island: My dad grew up in The Bronx so when I was little I remember going to City Island with my family, but that was many, many years ago! My husband decided it was time to explore as he had never been there. City Island is very small, 1 1/2 miles long by 1/2 mile wide, but there is a lot packed into this small island! There are tons of restaurants and the views are spectacular. I found a few houses that I’d be more than happy to live in! At one point we looked across the water and saw Potters Field Cemetery. I’d heard of this but never knew where it was and now I do! We ate lunch at City Island Lobster House and I was pleasantly surprised! The views were beautiful and the food was incredible! My husband and I split a lobster roll, which was delicious, and then seafood paella, which was delicious and enough to feel an army! It was a really fun day!
US Open: We were invited to attend the US Open and I was so excited. It had been years since we’d gone and it felt great to be back. We had a lot of fun watching the games, drinking champagne, chatting with people, and walking around. It was another great day in NY!
W.O.W. Boutique: Erica, the owner of W.O.W., has incredible taste. I love everything she shares on Instagram and always get excited when I see a new post. Erica opened W.O.W. in 1996 with her mom and has been going ever since. W.O.W. is size inclusive and carries many incredible brands. You can find W.O.W. on Instagram and Facebook and if you happen to be in Needham, MA you’ll be lucky enough to visit the boutique in person!
Emily Westenberger: Emily is a one woman show. She is the founder, designer, creative director of her business and produces all of her made to order designs on her own. I so admire Emily’s drive, determination, sewing skills (her clothes are so well made), and her designs. How beautiful is this skirt!
Cynthia Ashby: Playful, comfortable, and timeless-these are the words I use to describe Cynthia Ashby’s designs. They’re easy to dress up or wear casually and will take you from season to season and year to year!
Between our adventures and discovering some new (to me!) designers and boutiques, I’ve had a busy, but wonderful September. I’m excited for October!
