I’m always looking for great places to shop and, while I do believe you can wear anything as long as you wear it with confidence, there are times I feel like I can’t find clothes that work for me-for my age and body type, some felt too young and other too old. Enter VNV, a newly launched online boutique designed to help women find clothes that fit their bodies and lifestyles and make them feel great! At VNV you can shop by fit, by area you’d like to camouflage (got a few of those!), by designer, or by category. I love these options as some days I’m looking for something specific and others I just want to browse for something that catches my eye. VNV’s site offers the option to do either, or both, easily!
I recently had the opportunity to speak with Janice , one of the founders of VNV along with Rachel, and learn more about her and their new business.
How/why did you come up with the idea to start VNV?
From my early days as a child I have always loved fashion. Even though my career took a different direction as an engineer in high tech, I still expressed my creativity and personality through fashion. As I grew older, I decided to dabble in the fashion world by working part time at a high end boutique near my home. The demographic of the majority of the women was the same as me – a 50+ woman. As we all know as we grow older, our bodies are changing, our style preference changes, but we still want to look and feel fabulous! At the same time, I realized it was harder and harder to find clothing that addressed our changing bodies and was stylish and fun. Everything we see is targeted at millennials and GenZ. Why? We are full of life, feeling better than ever, willing to have fun with clothing, want to look stylish, but no one is speaking to US and offering great, stylish, age appropriate clothing for US! VNV plans to change this! We are on a mission – to make me, my friends, and every other woman out there who feels ignored be SEEN and HEARD!

Who do you see shopping at VNV?
We see the modern woman predominately 45 and older (but, we have had younger women express their desire for a site like VNV), who are looking for a one stop destination, with fabulous clothes highlighting different styling options shown on women of different ages (some for inspiration and some that look like us) that fit their lifestyle!
How do you choose what brands to carry?
We scope out many, many brands – known brands, lesser known brands, up and coming brands – with the lens of finding designers who understand this demographic and particularly understands their lifestyle and pain points in finding stylish clothing that fits to address their changing bodies. Our goal is to try all pieces on “our women” to understand details of how the item fits on “real’ women and help them choose the best styles for their body and lifestyle!
What is your goal or mission?
The goal of VNV is to offer an easy to navigate site for the modern woman with stylish clothing that fits the way they love and makes them feel as good on the outside as they do on the inside!
What does a day look like for you as you launch VNV?
As we were getting ready to launch (DOABH: VNV launched on 2/22/2022) our days were occupied on several fronts – (1)creating the styled outfits on the models for the photo shoot for the website (2) helping with the details of getting the website ready to go live (3) and working on getting the word out about VNV, including teeing up Instagram VNV ladies to post about the launch of VNV, posting on social media, and lining up interviews, blogs, and podcasts. Now that the site has launched, we are listening to the visitors to our site and responding bylining up new brands and designers to expand our breath of clothing on our site both in regards to style and price point. VERY busy days!
Tell us about your name, VNV.
At the heart our name is a celebration of life and especially our women who, despite their age, are still full of life …full of Vim and Verve. This was the initial idea for the name. Thinking that Vim and Verve was a long name for people to remember we shortened it to Vienvie. We loved the fact that ViE means life in French again giving a nod to celebrating life. As we got close to launch we recognized the difficulty in the name and wanted something that was easy to remember. Just prior to launch we settled on VNV which still in our minds is a celebration of life, the joy of living and is for our woman who will always be full of Vim and Verve!
What are your dreams for VNV?
My dream for VNV is to be THE GO TO site for a broad base of women who want one destination to find stylish clothing that fits and suits their lifestyle! We hope to understand our “women” to the point where we can not only offer amazing options from multiple brands, but can also offer the ultimate line of clothing designed specifically for THEM!
The Tribal Lounge Top and Tribal Punto Pants I’m wearing are by Alembika, available at VNV. I love Alembika clothes as they’re fun, comfortable, and so versatile! I can wear this as a set or separates. I’ll pair the top with jeans, black pants, or a skirt. The pants can be worn with a t-shirt, jean or leather jacket, or with a sweater as I show here. Being able to mix and match is important to me and VNV offers so many pieces where you can do just that!
While VNV is geared towards helping women 50+ find clothes that fit their bodies and lifestyles, the fashion they offer will look great on women of all ages! Visit their online boutique now, but be sure to check back frequently as they’re always adding new designers and new items!
