What Do You Want To Do Once The Stay At Home Order Is Lifted?

April 21, 2020 •

Shelter in place, stay at home, social distancing, social isolation, or physically distancing-whatever you call it, it’s been a tough and eye opening experience. It’s been very difficult as there are so many people we want to see and things we want to do. But it’s also been easy because by staying home we can make sure we stay healthy and don’t infect those around us should we be carriers.

I’m looking forward to traveling and exploring new places,

I asked some of my favorite bloggers, instagrammers, and influencers what they were looking forward to once the stay at home order was lifted. Did they have big plans or were they looking forward to getting back to the little things? Here’s what they had to say:

Susan of @fashionablyfifty:  “I am sure most people think I want to go thrifting. Haha! While I do miss that, the first thing I want to do is visit my mother. I always feel like I don’t see her enough. With the pandemic, I can’t risk getting her sick. It is awful!”

Julia of @juliawwrites: “Chatting, sitting in the park and writing, seeing my crush from afar.❤️?”

Diane of @dianekstyle: “What I’m looking forward to most is seeing my daughter and family and giving them all huge hugs!”

Devon of @devonathome: “Self reflection is a hard thing to face and with this quarantine we’ve had the inevitable task of looking at ourselves in the mirror a bit. The pace of life allows us to turn the other way sometimes but it’s really just an excuse to protect our egos. With that being said I’m just looking forward to exercising new habits with people I care about in the moments that I have with them. I’m in a business that’s really predicated on human connection and I don’t think we spend enough time in our field appreciating that. I think we’ll all come back with a refreshed perspective and admiration for life and be better off for it.”

Caitlin of @publiclivesecretrecipes: “I’m looking forward to seeing friends & family, taking another trip to the border with This is About Humanity & going to the beach!”

to eating at a restaurant,

Erica of @theartroompgh: “I am looking forward to spending quality time with my family and friends. I am very excited to have our weekly dinners again and being able to celebrate all the events we missed while being on lockdown-birthdays, holidays, etc. I am also excited to spend some time eating at all of my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh and sitting on the patio of my favorite bars enjoying the warm nights! (Fingers crossed we are able to enjoy some of the summer!)”

Alison of Midlife and Beyond: “I’d love my family to have their routines back – I think we’re all happier when we have structure to our day.” And as for now, “Today the weather is glorious, so we have to make the most of it.”

Lynda of @lynda_hammond: “The thing I’m looking most forward to is hugging my mom. Mom is 87 and it’s been difficult to talk her into staying home and let me take care of her. But I’m grateful she has. So when this is over I’m going to hug her and my dad —91!— and my husband and I will take them out to lunch. I honestly can’t wait. I keep telling my mom just how much fun we will have. But that means we have to stay healthy in the meantime!”

Elena of @elenasalgraz: “This is a long and complex topic. I don’t know how we are going to be after this period mentally, physically and economically. I will do many things, but first I’ll get a vaccine I think and then I will visit my family…and then…”

and going to the beach.

Heather of Celebrity Style Guide: “I’m looking forward to dinners out with friends and family at restaurants and travel!”

Gina of @ginagpotter: “I’m looking forward to a walk at the beach in our town ?”

Laura of @laura.rodway:  “The first thing I look forward to doing after all this is getting on an airplane and going somewhere. Boston, Japan, and New Zealand, oh and Ireland! Travel!!”

Sandi of @reagandoodle: “My cuddly teddy-bear-of-a-dog, Reagan, has been such a blessing to me during this pandemic! Because of him, I’m never alone. My husband and I are empty-nesters, but were frequently surrounded by family, since our two grown children and our 3 (soon to be 4) grandchildren live close by. I miss them like crazy! I CAN NOT WAIT to wrap my arms around them and not worry about keeping 6 feet away. I can’t wait to take pics of the grands playing and cuddling with Reagan. And let’s be honest, I also can’t wait to go out to dinner again. ? it’s the little things, right?”

family
But most of all, I’m looking forward to being with my family!

What are you looking forward to once we’re allowed to leave our homes?

Until then, stay safe!

So interesting! I cannot wait to hug and chew and be with my grandkids again! I get my energy from them! Pickleball has been my salvation and I miss my interaction with all my fellow players ! I played everyday and was so happy to have done that. I have a list a mile long to go to all the restaurants I want to try ? Just excited to be free again to do not that much! O yes I hope to complete some projects like all my inventions and cleaning my closets ? I hope to be able to focus and execute while being alone. Unfortunately I am Co -dependent and I need you?

Barb, You have so many great things to look forward to! And yes, to be free to have the choice to do a lot or a little is big. Hopefully, we will safely have that choice again soon. xo
