Things That Helped Me Beat The Boredom in March 2021

March was a really exciting month! We celebrated my husband’s birthday-second birthday for him where we’ve been home and distanced. I’m looking forward to resuming life, celebrating him, and visiting and hugging my kids! We’re hoping to be able to see all four of them in the next month or so-I mean what can be better than that!

Covid Vaccine: After a year of rarely leaving the house, it is nice to know that I’ll soon be able to resume some level of activity. Obviously, I’ll still take precautions, but getting the vaccine has given me such a glimmer of hope! After the first vaccine I walked out feeling lighter, more optimistic, and so ready to hug my kids! After the second-no words! We’re waiting the recommended two weeks and then who knows what great stuff awaits us!

Women Supporting Women & Button Up Shirts:  I recently learned about Grayson, a company that strongly supports women and makes great button ups. These shirts fit! No gapping across the chest, roomy without being baggy, and super comfortable. I also learned the difference between a button up and button down! A button down has a collar with buttons that can be…buttoned down, while a button up shirt does not. Did you know this? ? Anyway lol, there are so many great button ups to choose from and so many ways to style them! Definitely a closet staple.

Styling Clothes for Different Seasons: Evie Lou has done it again! I wanted to share how clothes can be styled from season to season so we can get the most out of our wardrobes, and Evie Lou sent over the most amazing clothes. It doesn’t surprise me given what a fantastic selection they have and how well they picked up on my style. 

Binge Watching: Staying home, I was in the mood to watch something light and fun. Loving New York as I do I wasn’t against something that took place in the city. Seeing great outfits always makes a show more enjoyable for me. Put this all together and, you guessed it, I watched Sex and the City on Amazon Prime beginning from season one. I used to watch it but not religiously so I might have missed an episode here or there, or I’d randomly watch one episode on repeat. Well, starting from the beginning was really fun! It is amazing to me how many of the outfits I’d wear today-they’re that good! I also laughed as I’d recently watched Bridgerton on Netflix and so many people said that was like soft porn, but watching SATC, especially given that it was filmed over 20 years ago, well it makes Bridgerton seem mild! ?

Up-cycled Jewelry:  I came across Diana @diana_rare_diamond on Instagram and loved her creations. Diana uses authentic Chanel, and other designer, buttons to make jewelry. You all know how much I love Chanel so seeing her designs was so exciting. I had a hard time deciding which one to buy, but when I received mine in the mail I knew I’d made the right choice! I’ll be back for more!!

Reading: I love to read and have been an avid reader since I was a kid (Did you hear they’re making Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret into a movie!! This brings back such memories; I can’t wait!). When I find a book I like I try to read as many books by that author as I can. I recently came across the author Shari Lapena and love her books! I’ve read The Couple Next Door, Someone We Know, A Stranger In The House, An Unwanted Guest, and The End Of Her. All. Of. Her. Books! There are so many twists and turns in these thrillers that just when you think you’ve got it figured out she throws something (or someone) else in to the mix and well, wow! Her new book, Not A Happy Family, is due out in July of this year and I can’t wait!!

Rydir Band: When I travel I always take a carry on suitcase for those things I’d be upset about if my luggage got lost. On top of that I place the tote bag I use as my purse (bigger to fit more-yup, I’m such an over packer!) I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been walking through the airport, in the hotel, or wherever I am and my carry on goes one way and my tote bag the other. Enter Rydir Band. I simply slide the band over my tote bag and the handle of my carry on, tuck it below my tote and everything is secure and ready to go. I’ll also keep the band on when I put my tote through the scanner at the airport to protect my bag. This is the perfect travel accessory I never knew I needed, but am so glad I have it now!
